Infomercials. Promises of better lives through small investments. I've been a sucker to many of them only to be disappointed time after time.
I purchased the Winsor Pilates exercise tapes in April 2002 after watching a very convincing infomercial. Thank goodness I hadn't learned my lesson because the promises made in the Winsor Pilates infomercial were ALL TRUE.
I started using the tapes three times per week as instructed, and after only two uses, friends started asking me if I was working out.
The workout is easy...most is done while lying down. I am lazy and normally cannot stick with a workout program for more than a week or so, but I've been consistent with Winsor Pilates now for almost two years.
The results came quickly, five inches off my waist in around a month. Inches that otherwise would not budge. I had tried jogging, other tapes, sit ups, starving, and had just about given up before pilates.
In addition to the new waistline, I've also become a lot more flexible. Every exercise in the program is also a stretch, and my muscles really do appear longer.
I have had circulation problems ever since I can remember, probably due to lack of physical activity. Since using the Winsor Pilates program, veins that were showing on my legs have completely disappeared, and my feet and hands never fall asleep anymore.
Back pain and tightness in my back and legs is also gone, again I think because of all the stretching involved in the program.
I've purchased the videos for several friends and they are all also now big fans.
I wrote in to the Winsor Pilates website last year, and was called to be a guest on their infomercial. Wow...what an experience that was!
Mari is the most positive and genuine person I think I've ever met. The other women who were at the shoot all had similar stories as mine...with a few more or a few less inches lost to report.
It sounds strange to hear the words come out as they do, because I had pretty much been convinced that all infomercials were fake. Winsor Pilates really did change my life. It's a very effective and very easy workout that does not take forever to do, and I recommend it to everyone.
The tapes cost $40, not a huge amount of money by any means. There is a spa near my house that offers Pilates at $60 per session. Here's a little cost comparison:
Winsor Pilates three times per week for 1.5 years: $40.00 total
Spa Pilates three times per week for 1.5 years: $60 x $14040.00 total.
I think I'll stick with my Winsor Pilates!
This seriously sounds like an "infomercial line," but if you've thought about trying it, please do! You will not regret it!
Also, just want to say hello to Beth, Bridget, and Susie from the infomercial shoot, and a special thank you to Sue Nelson for organizing and accomodating the testimonial people so perfectly!
And of course, a huge thank you to Mari Winsor for developing Winsor Pilates...I cannot thank you enough for the incredible change you've brought to my life!
